Studies have shown that one of the best ways for both you and your partner to have a positive birth experience is to ensure you have the emotional and physical support you need during labour, as well as a solid plan for those first few weeks after birth.
A doula can help you and your partner work together during labour, can assist with comfort measures, offer reassurance to both of you, give partners a chance to rest during long labours, help gather information and facilitate communication with caregivers, and provide continuity of support throughout your birth.
