I wanted to support a local business, for community and good service.When looking at broadloom, I asked about off-gassing and was told that carpets gave off less gasses than paint. Once installed, I could smell (and even taste) the gasses. Researching, I realized that I did want to sleep with that toxic mixture of gasses. Hallmark would take no responsibility for giving me wrong advice at the start. They did remove the broadloom and sold me an area rug at a much reduced price (which is actually fraying in places). I was unable to sell the broadloom online and am now left way out of pocket. I feel very poorly treated by Hallmark Carpet as they took no responsibility at all for having told me that the carpet would be low in emissions. What has happened to customer service?….. especially in a small community based business.
