BEHAVIOUR ISSUES - big or small -
People Aggression / Dog Aggression / Food Aggression / Pulling on Leash / Jumping Up / Nipping / Bolting / Separation Anxiety / Excessive Barking / Generally Uncontrollable Behaviour / Boundary Training / Off-Leash Training / etc.
I UNDERSTAND DOGS. I CAN HELP.
· many times, seemingly big problems have very simple solutions
· knowledge is the key - solutions come from understanding
I WILL :
- COME TO YOUR HOME to work with you and your dog(s) at your convenience
- TELL YOU WHY your dog is doing the unwanted behaviour...AND THEN show you what to do to correct it
- SHOW YOU helpful handling skills that will make life easier for both you and your dog - for instance - I will teach you a very easy technique where, in minutes, your dog will never again pull on the leash (without the use of choke chains, or ‘halties’), as well as many other important, and useful handling skills that will help in all aspects of life with your dog(s)
- GIVE YOU valuable insight and knowledge into the way dogs think, and view the world, and show you how you can use this in a practical, effective manner to: (1) - better influence their behaviour; (2) - create harmony, stability, and security in their little world; (3) - establish trust and respect between you and your dog(s); (4) - avoid the miscommunication and misunderstandings that create problems – and are usually the 'root cause' of most 'behaviour' issues (VERY important)
- TEACH new dog or puppy owners very easy and simple (but VERY IMPORTANT) things to do so that future potential behaviour issues can be avoided altogether - PREVENTION is always the best solution - KNOWLEDGE is your best friend
A dog behaviourist should be available to EVERYONE who needs help without it being prohibitively expensive.
Initial Visit: (approximately 2 hours) $160.00
Subsequent Sessions: No Charge (Sometimes it is necessary - most times it is not)
The benefits of becoming a ‘KNOWLEDGEABLE’ dog lover are priceless.
NO SATISFACTION – NO CHARGE
Your dog will be your companion for many, many years
- let me help you UNDERSTAND your pet
- let me help you make the most of those years

--------------------------- A personal note from Doug Brady ----------------------------------
My name is Doug Brady, and I am a dog behaviourist. If you are considering hiring someone to help you with your dog problem, you would probably like to know a little something about them. With that in mind, let me, as briefly as possible, give you some background about myself that may help.
I am a long-time Kingston resident. In 2005, my wife and I got our dog Aristotle (Ari). We set out to make sure that Ari was not only a well-cared for, happy dog - but a well-trained dog as well. He did become a St. John Ambulance Pet Therapy Dog - and together Ari and I would visit Rideaucrest Home for the Aged. About the same time, I thought it would be a good thing to volunteer an hour a week to walk dogs at the Humane Society. That became 2 – 2½ hours every day. I spent the next couple of years, and countless hours, studying dog trainers, behaviourists, their philosophies, methods, and techniques for the purpose of helping to make unadoptable dogs adoptable. During this process, and over time, I came to realize that I had a special gift for working with dogs and saw that there was a need for my talent. I saw that there were dogs and dog owners right in my neighbourhood, and around the city who need help (with everything from small annoying things to major issues), that can benefit from the things I have learned, and the skills I have gained. Over the last few years, under the name “Ain’t Misbehavin’”, I have had the satisfaction of helping hundreds of people live more harmonious lives with their pets. (for testimonials, visit my website: aintmisbehavin.ca)
There are many dog behaviourists whom I admire; Dr. Stanley Coren, Dr. Ian Dunbar, Cesar Millan, Adam Katz, Don Sullivan, Ty Brown, Jeff Gellman, Sean O'Shea, Richard Heinz, Peter Caine amongst many others. The understanding and use of dog psychology, along with the methods and techniques I use, incorporate the practices of all these professionals and more...and has helped greatly in the development of 'my own' unique style and abilities.
The value of my teaching is in the knowledge and skills that you gain, and can take with you for the rest of your life (and apply to any other dog you may acquire). The result is an improved relationship, and quality of life for both you and your dog. Considering the fact that your pet will be with you for, typically, the next 10 - 15 years, the obvious benefits are well worth inordinately more than the relatively modest amount that I charge.
Too many people choose to ignore, and just ‘learn to live with’ unwanted behaviour.
Others take unnecessary drastic steps, or otherwise deal with their pets’ issues in an inappropriate way. So unnecessary (sometimes even tragic) - and usually - so easily fixable. My goal is to open your eyes with the things I show you, and teach you, so that you and your dog(s) will have happier lives together. Simple as that.
I love working with dogs, and teaching people. I am a dog whisperer. I am more than just 'good' at my job. If you have an issue with your pet, I can help. Please call with any questions or concerns, for a free consultation, or to make an appointment. I would look forward to working with you.
