Renascent Graham Munro Centre

I attended this place two years ago and it was the most horrendous experience I have ever had with anyone in the addiction/mental health field. The counselors were extremely mean and rude and it was a very disempowering experience. I would not wish this place on my worst enemy. I am currently studying addiction at McMaster University and from what I am learning, these women who work here really have no idea what empathy and compassion is, nor do they understand that women need to be nurtured, not scorned and punished. Yet they call themselves women of AA, a program which is supposed to help people, not bring them down. My advice to you is to find a place which empowers their clients, not disempowers them. Find a place that incorporates trauma-informed care with a feminist approach to practice. There are so many other treatment centres out there, I highly recommend not choosing this one!!
