Description

It was in January 1966, that Mont-Sainte-Anne officially became a ski resort. It had 4 lifts, including the only gondola in Eastern Canada and opened with 10 trails for ski lovers![br/][br/]But this was not the first time that someone was interested in opening Mont-Sainte-Anne for skiing. In 1943, some avid skiers had a mission to find the perfect slope for a large-scale alpine ski competition. Passionate and not willing to give up, they were able to host the Canadian Championships in 1947. The first of a long list of events to follow, this event solidified Mont-Sainte-Anne’s reputation for its snow quality and the challenges it offered.[br/][br/]Mont-Sainte-Anne has 66 trails and offers night skiing with the highest elevation in anada. The Côte de Beaupré’s Jewel, Mont-Sainte-Anne is also well known for its cross-country centre, the largest in Canada.

What a great place to spend a holiday. There are many advantages to this specific Quebec ski/snowboard locale that the other hills lack. It's cheaper, steeper, and has way more programs than the other local mountains. It is only a few feet shorter than Mont Tremblant, but 10x as steep. And it's a sister mountain to the nearby Le Massif, which is the officially the highest peak in the east, as well as the mountain that the Canadian Olympic Ski Team trains on. When you go to Mont Saint Anne, you'll be occupied with a plethora of great activities, regardless of your ski/snowboard skill level. Be sure to grab a Crepe from the Creperie at the bottom of the gondola. After you burn a few calories from traversing across this massive mountain top, you'll want to visit La Cabin A Sucre on your way back down to the bottom of the mountain. Le Chateau Mont Saint Anne is an ideal place to lodge while skiing here. It's at the bottom of the Mountain and has every kind of game/food/alcohol/amenity you can imagine.
