Al's Appliance

Description

Al's Appliance Repair was founded by Al Pembleton in Guelph, Ontario in 1984. After working a number of years in retail and factory work, Al decided to try his hand at entrepreneurship. He purchased the business from George Stevenson and worked with him for a full year with no wage to learn the trade. Al pounded the pavement delivering flyer's and talking to people, promoting his new business. It didn't take long for his hard work and honesty to shine through. Anyone could see his business was destined to be a success. It took Al about five years to build the business to a point where it could sustain itself. From there, there was no looking back. He repaired major appliances and also sold reconditioned used appliances. The business grew to a five employee, two location establishment. When many small businesses declared bankruptcy during the recession in the late 80's - early 90's, Al was able to sustain the business by downsizing. His established reputation for honest personal service was the key to the company's survival. In 1994 Al's son Brad became a full partner purchasing the service portion of the business. Al and Brad worked in tandem harmony until Al's sudden passing in 2008. The used sales division of Al's Appliance was dissolved at that time, but the service department continues, strong as ever. Brad strives to maintain the unblemished reputation established by Al, and maintains unscrupulous service today.
