Fabricland Distributors
1980 Eglinton Ave E,Business details
Description
Fabricland Distributors started in August of 1968, when it opened its first store at Queen and Roncesvalles, in Toronto. It was a small store and carried the most popular fabrics of the day, mainly crimplene knits, at discount prices and a selection that could not be matched anywhere in Toronto. From this one small store dealing mainly in crimplene, Fabricland expanded into the warehouse concept and image, carrying a much larger selection of fabrics and expanding into sewing notions and accessories to make it easier for customers to purchase all their sewing needs in one store. In the past 37 years Fabricland has grown from one small store in Toronto's west end into Canada's Largest Fashion Fabric Distributor, with 170 stores from coast to coast across Canada. Today Fabricland carries the basics, including couturier silks, woolens, designer fabrics, cottons and blends, as well as notions, patterns and accessories and the largest selection of fabrics possible, including drapery and upholstery fabrics. In 1993 Fabricland introduced an exclusive drapery department in many stores, known as the Home Dec Centre. The Home Dec Centre is virtually a store within a store, featuring an enhanced selection of drapery, upholstery, trims, notions, hardware and accessories presented in an inspiring environment with numerous displays, and overseen by trained professionals in the Home Dec field. In the past several years, in response to the growing interest in the area of crafts, Fabricland has more than doubled their selection in this area, bringing in an excellent selection of Craft fabrics, notions and accessories. To address the issue of a decline in the sewing population, as well as the general trend towards easy and affordable no-sew decorating options, in 2004 Fabricland launched there ever-growing collection of No-Sew, Ready-to-Go Home Decor, with ready-to-hang drapery panels, white bedding, bed-in-a-bag sets, an expansive line of drapery hardware, table linens such as placemats and runners, as well as a huge selection of decorative home accessories and much, much more... all of excellent quality and value. Also addressing the issue of a decline in the sewing population, many Fabricland locations offer sewing classes, decor seminars and many other special interest and skill workshops. Please visit our Classes link for full details on where classes are offered. Finally, we're very pleased to have introduced in Spring 2005 the Liz Claiborne Home decorative fabrics collection, available exclusively in Canada at Fabricland. The collection adopts the free-spirited personality of the Liz Claiborne customer and her desire for home fashions that are both stylish and inviting to the whole family.
