Berkhof's Roofing is owned and operated by Gary and Karen Berkhof and has been serving Durham Region for over 25 years. In 1986 Gary started with a small home improvements business and ventured into building custom homes under the incorporated name Berkhof's General Contracting Ltd. By the end of 1987 we realized through supply and demand that Gary's specialty was roofing and we, therefore, created Berkhof's Roofing, a subdivision of Berkhof's General Contracting Ltd.
Gary gained his experience and perfected his trade when he was a young adult working for a well-known local roofing company. He learned the value of a dollar, hard work, honesty and good business ethics. Gary instilled these values early on with his own employees and they continue to this day. Berkhof's Roofing is fortunate to have employees who have been loyal to our company for many years. Without these valuable employees, our business would not have survived and prospered as we have. Highly skilled and experienced, these employees are the backbone to our company's policy of providing excellence and professional service at all times. Josh Melnychuk is our Operations Manager and works along-side Gary providing customer service, job estimating and job management. With his degree in Business Administration he has been a great asset to our company. Josh started at the bottom of the ladder by working as a labourer in 2003 and last year(2012) was promoted to Operations Manager. Berkhof's Roofing is fully insured for liability and Worker's Compensation. Our company has high standards for the health and safety of our employees and continually strives to maintain or improve them.
