I had the worst racist incident of my life at Gords Ski and Bike on Friday July 7 2012. I am an experienced biker with over 30 years of biking experience in road and mountain biking, and a white male, and I went into this store for the first time with a native male expecting to find one of the best bike shops in Manitoba. Instead, after 40-60min of shopping I was asked to leave by the store owner, who seems to be known by the name JF. The next day, my friend posted a simple non-positive comment on the store Facebook page to let his view be known. The store's public response was to accuse my friend and I of intending to steal or plan a later break-in. The posting described my friend (who has facial rosacea) as a meth-faced drug addict needing another fix. He also described us as asking a strange illogical questions about bikes and equipment. To all my friends in the Saskatchewan Cycling Association, and any native person, stay away from this store. This is not the shop that the venerable Gord Reid built.
