My clients can count on me to treat them with unconditional regard, caring and acceptance, so they can work on their issues in the safety of a trusted counseling relationship.
I have a Masters degree in Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy from Sir Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario, as well as a Certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution, and I am also a certified coach. I have conducted many mediations to settle family and work conflict situations. I am currently on the team of Spiritual Care Providers at the Northumberland Hospital in Cobourg, Ontario. Clients come to me with: • depression • anxieties • relationship issues (personal or work related) • grief • anger • trauma • issues relating to life transitions Many of my clients begin to enjoy their lives more again, and they realize that their unique treatment plan is sensitive to their unique needs. We know that in most cases our brains can change and heal, and knowing this extends hope and motivation for a client. My training in mental health counselling, conflict resolution, and couple counselling helps my clients with difficulties they have encountered. Addressing the "here and now" while learning from the past helps in moving towards a healthy future. When we have the right tools we can succeed in using our unique strengths! The talk counseling session is enriched with helpful tools and teachable skills to help clients cope with their circumstances. I believe that we all have the gifts we need to succeed, and I am passionate about working with clients to make these gifts available so they can contribute meaningfully.
