Vickie began her career as a real estate salesperson in 1987. For five years Vickie specialized in helping first time buyers find the perfect home keeping within their budget and ensuring they had the necessary knowledge and guidance to help make the right decision for the largest investment they were about to make.
In 1993, Vickie's career path changed when she and her husband decided to open a franchised restaurant in Ajax, East Side Mario's. Still in the business of servicing people, ensuring they have a positive experience, and giving service that sells. She became involved with the community on many different levels from sponsoring local sports teams, fundraisers, meals for charity functions, to taking on co-op students, and volunteering with Ajax Home Week. Those sixteen years allowed Vickie to see firsthand how community oriented the people of Ajax and Pickering are. It was a wonderful and rewarding experience. After going through some emotional times with caring for and losing family members, Vickie decided she needed to help people in any way she could. Durham Hospice accepted Vickie as a volunteer where she completed the required course for palliative care. "Everybody needs a little help sometime in their lives, and if I can provide them some relief, support, or compassion, and make a difference for a short time, there is nothing more rewarding or self gratifying. I love caring for my clients and the people important to them." After living in Ajax and Pickering since 1983, raising a family with two terrific boys, a couple of dogs and cats, and making Durham their home, Vickie realized she truly enjoys helping people and decided to go back to her basic roots, re-educate herself and become a real estate salesperson once again. Having come full circle, and learning many life skills, Vickie is back in the people caring business, servicing your needs, and connecting with your emotions.
