My background holds over 40years of extensive practice experience and continued learning. Expertise includes recovery/healing from emotional hurts, losses, trauma. Such events, especially in early years, can instill persistent insecurity, fears, loneliness and grief, causing troubled inner-life and distressed relationships... Keeping us from our core resilient nature where we hold strong potentials to be more emotionally open, creative, confident, realistic/effective persons. I mainly address: "Self-regulation" problems eg, social anxiety, inner conflict, shame/guilt, anger, sadness-depression; Addictions/overdependencies. Relational intimacy and commitment, boundaries, sexuality, communication. Identity-'personality' issues. Employment, education, general selfcare goals. My 'style' is committed engagement: developing a supportive-challenging connection that encourages open exploring. I provide abundant feedback, resources, practical problem-solving (with humor as helpful). Perspectives applied: our deeper subconscious energies and persuasions; family (including generational) dynamics ; neuroscience; social-cultural-historical factors; philosophy. Orientation: wholeperson wellness and integration; noting your complexity and unique situation, passions and wisdom for discovering new meanings/choices, and expressive voice. Because distress 'lives' in our physical-feeling self, insight can be insufficient. My focus is primarily emotional. I use activating-experiential approaches (eg, role-play, art), and relational attachment/developmental psychology; analytic-interpretive processing (psychodynamic); C/DBT; sensory-motor;' internal family', trauma treatment, play therapy.
