We are a small group of Registered Psychotherapists offering specialized psychotherapeutic services out of our office in the Centretown West area of Ottawa. Our clients include adults, youth, and couples and we also offer group therapeutic programming.
Our philosophy as clinicians is that clients come presenting with what they consider to be a core issue. It might be anxiety, depression, trouble in a relationship, an addictive or compulsive behaviour, childhood trauma… Whatever the issue, we believe there exists underlying patterns of thought, feeling and behaviour that originated long ago. These patterns interfere with one's ability to function effectively and be happy in life. We consider these patterns to be core systems. Here's the good news - If we can uncover and explore them, we can help to change them. Finally, and for us the most significant meaning behind the concept of CORE, is that as therapists, we have the hope of helping our clients to connect with the core essence of themselves - whether this is something that was never really developed, or somehow lost along the way. Once found, once a person begins to live that core self, true happiness and fufillment in all areas of life may follow. For insurance coverage purposes, we work under the supervision of a Registered Psychologist in the Province of Ontario. Some of us are also registered providers with Non-Insured Health Benefits (for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis clients) and the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board of Ontario.
